If the albums were created on your iPad you can delete them on the iPad. To do so, go to album view and touch the Edit button at top right. An X will appear at the corner of albums you can detete.

If the albums were synched from your computer you can't delete them on the iPad. You will have to sync with iTunes on your computer with the albums you wish deleted unselected.

Once you launch the Photos app, simply choose the photo album containing the photos you want to delete. If you are not sure of the album, the Photos tab at the top of the screen contains all photos on the iPad. Next, tap the share button at the top right corner of the screen. This is the button that looks like a square with an arrow coming out of it. On the main screen, the share button is really an edit button that puts your iPad into multiple selection mode.
After you tap the share button, you are ready to select the photos you want to delete. Simply tapping on a photo will put a blue circle with a check mark on the photo.
Continue tapping until you have all the photos selected you want to delete, and when you are read, touch the red delete button at the top of the screen. You will be asked to confirm that you want to delete the selected items, and after confirming, the photos will be purged from the iPad.
Get more details from "Delete all photos from iPad".
Try it.
