Revenge for stolen phone

iPhone was stolen by ex-friend of boyfriend. I have suspended service and was told they can only use it as a iPod or to get on Internet via WiFi. Is there anyway to ping the iPhone if on Internet? Maybe by MAC address or such?

iPhone 5, iOS 6.1.3

Right,

See below, I just wrote this in regard to someone saying their phone isn't working.

the middle part of it related to the sim card issue.

"call your provider.

This happened to my daughter on a Saturday night. For a bit she could text and not call. Then could not use her phone.

The next day, trouble shooting with AT&T, found out she'd been hacked. Someone got a new iPhone with my ID information (we had not lost our wallets or anything). Someone hacked my AT&T online account, used my daughter's updgrade to get a new iPhone. AT&T could tell me this occurred at a Walmart somewhere in the US but that was all they knew. Subsequently, the credit card that I had my AT&T phone bill charged to monthly was also comprimised.

Anyway, when they did this, they usurped her sim card. She had to get a new sim card, though not a new phone.

then later, I had to call them about charges that appeared related to the theft, which they removed.

Anyway do call, and if it's that, you are obliged to make a police report if you want to keep yourself in the clear."
