I use system 10.6.8 so it does not show iCloud in system preferences - so how can I set up 'find my iphone' on my current system?

Hi davidmenzel,

I have managed to sign-up on iCloud using Safari - thank you. The problem though is that it locates it but does not show the address. Is this possible?

I read an article recently (unfortunately cannot find it) whereby a man connected his iphone to his mac through iCloud and then his iphone was stolen he was able to locate it as it gave the actual address. He rang the police and hey presto! they retrieved it. I have attached a screenshot showing the location of my iphone but as you see no address details. Appreciate any info you may have. Regards Rachel.

The location is based cell tower triangulation and has no way of tying that into an address. The accuracy is dependent on how close the device is to a cell tower and how many towers are near. This topic discusses that: How Accurate is iCloud tracking: Apple Support Communities

If you set the map to Hybrid mode and zoom in as far as you can you might be able to identifry a particular house/structure.
