Lost Snow Leopard DVD

Does Apple replace lost operating system DVDs?

I have a new computer so gave my old one, a 2007 Mac Mini, to my neighbor. I erased everything but now can't find the original Snow Leopard DVD to install the software.

Obviously I need the dvd because I wiped the drive so there is nothing to boot to.

The EULA requires you to restore the original flavor of OS X that came with your Mac Mini in 2007 (Tiger?) before you transfer ownership.

You can "get around" that problem by:

1. Giving the Mac Mini to your neighbor with the hard drive wiped;

2. Purchasing SNow Leopard from the Apple Store in your neighbor's name (or have your neighbor purchase it - $20; 800-MYAPPLE or http://store.apple.com/us/product/MC573/mac-os-x-106-snow-leopard); and

3. Do your neighbor a favor and install Snow Leopard for him or her.
