Can't Save Images from Emails to iPad

I scanned a bunch of images on my home computer and emailed them to myself so I could save them to my iPad mini. For some reason, that doesn't seem possible. I can see the images in my email, and when I hold my finger on them, a little window does pop up asking me if I want to save them, but after I save them the images are nowhere to be found. I'm not stupid. I know how to save images to my iPad - from Facebook, from emails, from the web and from anywhere. I know that after I save them they show up in my camera roll. But these particular images do not. And actually, when I originally sent them all in one email and clicked on them in that email, the window that popped up didn't give me the option to save them to my camera roll. That is, "Save to Camera Roll" was not one of my options. "Save Image" was, though, so that's what I chose. But then I couldn't find the images. I then sent the images individually, in 14 different emails, and that time when I clicked on them, I did get the option to save them to my camera roll. I thought, "Cool. Now they'll finally show up in my camera roll," but alas, they did not. I don't know how to get these scanned images saved to my iPad. I've gone through all of my settings to see if there was some restriction set, but I couldn't find anything that needed to be changed. I've looked through forum after forum for an answer to why I'm unable to save these images, but still I have not found one. I've only found people saying, "Oh, just hold your finger on the image, and a window will pop up asking you if you want to save it. Then, save it, and it will show up in your camera roll." Like I said, I know how to save an image, and for the most part I know how to figure these types of things out. . . but this time I am at a loss. I want these images on my iPad, and I cannot get them there. It's driving me crazy. Yes, these images are all scans, but they're all JPEGs. It's not like they're in some weird format or anything. Also, there's nothing wrong with my wifi connection, and I'm able to save photos taken ON my iPad to my camera roll. I'm also able to save images from Facebook to it. Point is, getting these scanned images to my iPad should be pretty simple, right? So why is it impossible? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I've had exactly the same problem and came across your post while trying to find a solution.

In my case, some images save and some don't. I have an iPad mini.

However I have just resaved two of the (unsaved) images under different names and resolutions, and this time they saved first time.

I don't understand it, but hope it works for you.
