Canon Selphy CP900 software on my Macbook Pro running OS X 10.6.8?

Can anyone help me get my Canon Selphy CP900 printing from my Macbook Pro running OS X 10.6.8? I've tried downloading the drivers and software from the Canon site but nothing shows up. I also installed via the CD that came with the printer, the Selphy Photo Print program shows up but it doesn't show any connection or error or how to connect. I've connecting via Infrastructure (via my wireless router) and Ad Hoc but the program still says printer not on. I've seen some discussions that it is working 10.8.2...do I need to upgrade?

I can print from my iPhone and iPad but I'd like to be able to print from my MBP...thanks in advance.
