my ipod was stole. how could i find it if the icloud phone tracker isnt on?

Well what i did is i went into icloud and went to reminders. i believe an alert will go off on the ipod, iphone, or whatever divice you have. you can let the person know when to give it abck whatever you want, well at least thats what i did. i hope it helps.
