mirror mean a 100% mirror of the device
this makes full screen impossible
if it also does not fill out the whole height then adjusting the tv is pretty quick

My one is the apple tv2, and my uncle has got the tv3 box, but he hasn't got any problem of the full screen display at all, anyone can advise, what is the different between tv2 and tv3 box

and likely a bit faster cpu
test with your ios device and your uncles tv3 to see if that makes any difference
