What do you want to do? Back up the slideshow on DVD or create a playable DVD? If you want to create a DVD that someone can pop into a DVD player and watch, then send your iphoto slideshow to iDVD and burn from there.
Use Share>Send to iDVD, or start a project in iDVD and import it (the second works better for me).
If you want to make a backup copy (not playable), try using the export command to send it to the desktop and drag that copy onto the DVD icon in the finder. -
May 26, 2006 7:39 AM in response to Barbara Brundageby Barbara Brundage,Incidentally, if you are making a copy to share with someone as a playable disc, you should check to be sure their player can play DVD+R. DVD-R is more widely understood by DVD players. -
May 27, 2006 11:03 AM in response to Barbara Brundageby fathom,Hi Barbara,
Thank you for your reply. I am trying to copy a slideshow, with music, to a DVD for another to play through a DVD player onto their TV. I will follow your suggestion and try to create it again in iDVD. I'll let you know how I make out. -
May 27, 2006 11:15 AM in response to fathomby Barbara Brundage,Just to be sure I was clear--you don't need to recreate your slideshow in iDVD (although you can just make a slideshow there if you want). Send the iphoto slideshow to iDVD and it's all ready to use in a DVD. -
