Macbook Pro fan not working - questions!

Basically, my macbook pro fan is running at 0rpm. My laptop is regularly hitting 100 degrees C on my CPU temperature.

I can't have my Macbook sent away for repair as I need it for work and without it I cannot do my job.

Will they repair it in store or is it sent away? If so, how long is it sent away for?

I am in the UK.

Thanks.

That means you have a model that is sealed. Make sure the charger is connected when holding down the left-hand-side control, shift, and option keys together, also holding down the power button for a minimum of 20 seconds. Make sure to let go of all of the keys at the same time. If done correctly, it shouldn't really look like anything at all is happening. Maybe a flicker of the charger LED.

AppleCare's number 800-275-2273

Ignore prompts and keep saying "Service Adviser" to get straight to a person. They can schedule a reservation for you so that the genius bar can inspect the system and run a few diagnostics on it. We've basically exhausted all trouble-shooting options. If you have an AppleCare plan then it could possibly be covered as long as there is no accidental damage. Hope everything works out for you!

OOHKAY DOOKEY:

I had this problem for a loong time, whenever i booted a graphics intensive game, like Grid2 my computer could not run without frozen peas beneath it, and i downloaded SMC fan control, which didn't do much good. (displayed 0 rpm)

I eventually took the computer bottom off, and pushed the fan around, and dislodged a piece of plastic from the fan blades. This worked.

IMPORTANT!

IF YOU DO THIS DO NOT TOUCH ANYTHING ELSE, AND MAKE SURE YOUR COMPUTER IS OFF AND NOT CONNECTED TO ANY CHARGING PORTS!

I booted up SMC fan control right after i put the bottom back on, and the fan was working.

Compressed air also helps clean out the computer. (I found lots and lots of dust in mine.)

Hope this helps!

Cheers your tips helped !!

Here's what I did:- I installed smcfancontrol app, then I set it to max rpm !!

Then I held my macbook so the base was vertical and knocked on the base of my mac as if I was knocking on the door .......within 2 seconds I heard some scrapping noises then movement of something loose being thrown out of the way from the fan (that was set a max rpm's) and then the full roar of my fan again !!

No more over heating !!
