Can you scroll with an Apple optical mouse M5769?

Just purchased a used apple optical mouse m5769 to use on my husbands mac because I don't like his track pad. I rarely use his computer but when I do it is almost always because I need the function of a mouse for layout and design. I can't find any directions online that explain how to make this mouse scroll. I figured out the right click (click + control). HELP!

I did notice that the track pad works normally with the usb mouse plugged in so I can just use it for the scroll feature if this mouse does not scroll.

That one has no scroll function, just single-click.

Most third-party mice have scroll wheels and at least two buttons. I use Logitech wired mice on all our Macs, but they are especially useful on our old PowerBook that does not have the "two-finger scroll" function of latter notebook trackpads.

I believe the first Apple mouse that had a track-wheel was the "Mighty Mouse" introduced in 2005. However, it was not a very good mouse based on problems reported here.

The current Magic Mouse is the first Apple mouse since the ADB mice went to the rest home that I can tolerate. It has a smooth surface that functions like the trackpad, so scrolling does not involve a mechanical wheel. Consider one of those if hubby's computer is newer (system requirements ore included in the link below):
