Are you charging via wall charger or computer?
Its best to use the original apple wall charger. Many computer usb ports don't supply enough power to properly charge.
And what exactly does 'everything' mean? What did they say at the genius bar?
Tried USB wall, computer, multiple cords. Genius Bar said firmware issue and restored the iPad. That worked for about five minutes. Problem is still ongoing.
So you didn't go back?
First appointment I could get is tomorrow. Was just checking my other options
Ok, how did you restore? via itunes or directly from with settings on ipad?
Try the other of which ever you tried
How to restore
Via itunes
http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1414
via device
settings/general/reset/erase all content and settings
Hmmmm..that started with me last night. iPad retina. Coincidence that it happened with the iTunes update?
I am having the exact same issue
Leave it connected to the charger that came with the iPad and plug that into a know good wall outlet. Let try to charge overnight. If it still will not work Make an appointment at an Apple Store to have your device examined by a technician. Or contact Apple Support.
Did you try a different brick? That resolved my issue. Not just switching the cable, but the brick as well.
Of course by now, you've kept your appointment with the Genius Bar. Has the problem been fixed?
I had the same exact problem with my IPAD when plugged into my Macbook Air ( It beeps and the battery symbol flashes)
I fixed it by using an OEM cable not any aftermarket supplied cable.
Charging fine now.
All-
This beeping appears to be related to the degree of charging of your device battery (ipad, iphone) when you plug it in to your mac. If you look at your ipad when it is beeping, the battery indicator is flashing. Unplug your device from your Mac, and plug it into a standard wall charger until battery level is > 50%. Then plug it back in to your Mac, and voila, no more beeping.
I have had this beeping issue with both my iPhone 6S and my iPad Air 2, and the charging solution solved the problem.
Also, please note that the USB port on your Mac does not provide sufficient power to charge an iPad, just an iPhone.
Hope this helps
Hi xray1,
I agree with your observation and I have experimented a little and found that the ipad stops exhibiting this symptom when it has gone beyond about 80% (charged via wall socket).
Perhaps someone from Apple can advise whether this is a software / firmware issue. Just find it strange that this should be the case as I never used to have this issue (for both iphone 6 and ipad) on my older version of 13 inch MBP (2012) and it is happening with my 15 inch MBP (2015).
Cheers
