All-

This beeping appears to be related to the degree of charging of your device battery (ipad, iphone) when you plug it in to your mac. If you look at your ipad when it is beeping, the battery indicator is flashing. Unplug your device from your Mac, and plug it into a standard wall charger until battery level is > 50%. Then plug it back in to your Mac, and voila, no more beeping.

I have had this beeping issue with both my iPhone 6S and my iPad Air 2, and the charging solution solved the problem.

Also, please note that the USB port on your Mac does not provide sufficient power to charge an iPad, just an iPhone.

Hope this helps

Hi xray1,

I agree with your observation and I have experimented a little and found that the ipad stops exhibiting this symptom when it has gone beyond about 80% (charged via wall socket).

Perhaps someone from Apple can advise whether this is a software / firmware issue. Just find it strange that this should be the case as I never used to have this issue (for both iphone 6 and ipad) on my older version of 13 inch MBP (2012) and it is happening with my 15 inch MBP (2015).

Cheers
