No, just set them as small as they will go, 0".

Unfortunately I found no possibility to really set them to '0'. They always stay there. You can see them when you click on print and mouse over the bottom or top of the preview pane. This is annoying because you can not use the whole realm of a paper sheet. You need to reduce to something like 96%.

    Am I wrong?

I have  Pages '09 version 4.3 (1048) and in it you click on the header or footer. Click on View, then inspector. in the document section set the header/footer to 0 and uncheck the header footer check boxes. It worked for me.

Very sorry! You are absolutely right. I mixed things up.

My problem is with Numbers 3.2 an not '09 where it is not possible to remove the headers/footers completely.

One reason more to stay with '09 until Apple fixed this issue.

    Hi Jeuker,

In Numbers 3.2, you can do lots of things with Page Headers and Footers in Print Preview. Move them to the (paper) edge - if your printer will handle that .

Then bring up the Fonts window (in Print Preview, Menu > Format > Fonts > Show Fonts) and have a play:

Or leave them blank. With zero position on the (paper) page, they will probably be in the non-printing margins anyway .

    Regards,

    Ian.

Thank you very much for the hints.

Unfortunately I still could not solve my problem.

I scanned a form which has exactly paper size, would like to place a table as an overlay over the form, fill and print it.

It should have the same size as the original in the end. Even with a Font Size of 1pt in all fields of the header and the footer they are still there and consume space so that I have to scale it down to be able to print it on one page.

If I scale it to 96% I get two pages insted of one:

    Other ideas very much appreciated.
