you have your numbers mixed around. There is no 8.6 and the latest iPhoto requires 10.7.5+

There is a forum for iphoto and support, as well as you know the Help menu and type query

Upload? you mean import or export. Or even Add to iPhoto Library From Preview, Image Capture, and most any other source.

Probably because your camera RAW is not supported by iPhoto '11 - 8.1.2 - and OS 10.6.8 - what camera do you have?
