Q: How do I extend my network coverage with my new airport express

I just bought an airport express to extend my network coverage because I struggle to get my devices onto the network in certain places in the house. So what do I need to do to connect? Obviously plug it into power then do I need to connect it to the modem? That would be messy wires throughout the house!

MacBook Pro, OS X Mountain Lion (10.8.2)

Hi
I'm trying the same thing and have a new Extreme working, connected to a modem and a Wi-fi network setup, one Express connected to it in extended mode but I can't get my second Express to connect. It just won't display in the Airport Utility screen. The first one alos took a while but after lots of resets I managed to get it to display and set it up but theh second one just express just won't display, have rest about 10 times now.

I wish there was a scan button in Airport Utility!

Hi Eric,
So have managed to set up the Airport Express but I don't think it's actually extending my netork. Green light is on, I've set it up using Aiport Utility ok but when I stand right next to it with my iPad there is only one bar lit up on my network signal. Shouldn't it be strong?

Try turning off your iPad wifi next to the express then turn it back on.
