kindle app

I have purchased the Kindle App for my ipad mini and when I try to purchase a book from Amazon I get the message - this mobile application does not currently support digital downloads - how can I update it so that I can purchase and download books directly to the ipad rather than doing so on my PC first?

you can't shop directly from the Kindle for iOS app however, you can purchase content from the Kindle Store on the Amazon website.

To purchase the book

1. Using your browser visit: www.amazon.com/ebooks (you might need to sign in with your email address and password).

2. Browse or search for a Kindle title you want to read, and then tap the "Buy now with 1-Click" button.

3. Tap the "Go to Kindle for iPhone" button to open the book in the Kindle reading app.

Hi Thanks for reply and yes, the app was free. When I go onto the amazon.com app from the ipad I dont get the option to buy the book, only the option to put in my wish list to then purchase on my PC. Have tried redownloading the Kindle App but the same thing happens. I have set up payment details etc on the amazon account too so not really sure where the problem lies. I have purchased a book via the PC and it downloaded automatically to my ipad which is fine but i believe it should be possible to do everything from the ipad and not involve the PC.
