imac turns off and freezes

Hi,

I have an iMac mid 2007 (20inch) and I updated from 10.5.8 to 10.6.8 and added 2GB of ram the other day and ever since it keeps freezing and or turning itself off. I have run verify and permissions on Disk Utility and this comes back OK! I accept the computer is 5 years old but last week it was spot on and now its not.

Any suggestions?

Thanks

First check to make sure that the RAM modules are firmly seated in the slots.

(Lay the iMac face down on a soft colth or towel and push read hard on each module with both thumbs)

Then if it still does not work properly, recheck the spec's of the RAM that you purchased.
