download very slow from App store

I am having this problem also. It takes forever to download via wi-fi. Had the problem last night as well and gave up trying to get an app. I am using iPhone 5 with iOS 6.1.3. I have not had this problem previously.

Ditto. All downloads from the store, whether apps or movies have been very slow this week!

Same problem. Seems like some problem with Apple servers.

Other threads on this topic have suggested that the problem is a DNS-routing issue. Other people who have been using Google or OpenDNS have had issues. The slow wi-fi was resolved when they changed back to the native DNS of their ISP .. might be woth a shot :)

Thanks okkenui, I changed DNS for work vpn conection ...I changed back to my ISP and got back fast download app speed.

Are you using your local ISP's DNS? If not, please do that. Also check that your router has the standard DNS that your ISP provides.

Does DNS has anything to do with download speed? Yes, check [1,2,3].

I´m very frustrated with my iphone 5, only because of app store, i am from Colombia, and the speed ***** its terrible, all my friends with android phones don´t have this problem, and since Steve Jobs, i think that apple is falling, and with the iOS7 coming, i don´t want to think what will happen, and apple lost 1 client only because of this problem and with S4 out. i am trying to sell this thing because i constantly change apps because of the limited space of 16gb and apps like Asphalt 7, its really a pain to see in my wifi apps of 20mb take more than 1 min to fully download when my friend S3 download the same app in seconds.

Wow thanks that really help with the app store download speed problem, you have to grow up to understand why is this forum about, or at least try to say something productive IF U CAN.

Im sorry but i and alot of friends have this issue with cellphone carrier or wi-fi and with itunes

I have a similar issue downloadign apps and it is not the speed or width of my ISP. However when I open the downloads window and stop and restart each download (often several times) the apps will then download rapidly. When I dont do that it can take hours to load even a small app. Why does stopping and restarting the download help, and what problem does this indicate and/or resolve?

I've also experienced that, but I don't know what the start/stop is clearing in the whole chain of software, protocols and hardware between my computer and the server.

The problem with the TC dropping clients is easy to isolate.
