Hi IMAGIN2 If you want to import XAVC to FCP, make sure to update your Final Cut Pro X to the latest version 10.0.8, and then visit Sony’s site to download their latest import plugin "PDZK-LT2 vs1.10." Once the plugin is installed, you can then launch FCP X and click the import button to load the footages, and then edit XAVC in FCP X.
If it the plugin does work, or you just cannot run the XAVC footages on FCP smoothly like dealing with the ProRes 422 one, or you are using the older version of FCP such as FCP 7 that doesn't have an XAVC import plugin, you can try this XAVC Video Converter for Mac to convert the XAVC footages to FCP without losing the original video quality. You can read this XAVC to FCP conversion guide to know more. Forgiveonedaynot

im looking forward to buy a Sony PMW-F5, so i tried to check out if this plug-in for FC Pro X from Sony works. I have OS X 10.8.5 and FC Pro X 10.0.9. After installing the plug-in some clips used in the same project dont work correctly anymore. All buttons in the color-adjustment menu are in position 0 at -100%.(see the screenshot on the top right site)
