Convert vinyl to itunes

I have a Macbook pro with retina display and I would like to convert my vinyl records to itunes. Does anybody know how to do this? I understand it is possible with Garage Band, but I don't think there is an audio in on the machine.

MacBook Pro with Retina display, OS X Mountain Lion (10.8)

Thanks. I had read on some of the support pages and online, that the earphone jack was also an audio input as well, but you needed to adjust this in the sound settings, any idea if this is true?

They support headsets with a microphone and microphones being plugged in, so it must be input as well.
