Q: How can I decrease the storage occupied by "other" in my Mac?

I checked on the storage of my Macbook Air today, and I have 25Gb of a total of 120 occupied by "Other". I have been checking on it since I got my Mac and it has never been this much, so I did a little research on it. There's many websites that say to leave it alone because it is all settings or system logs, but like I said it wasn't like this before, so there has to be a solution for it. I downloaded Clean My Mac, and Ccleaner and they haven't changed anything. Suggestions?

Delete these Apps... They are not necessary.

My Mac is organized, backed up, up to date and clean. I cleaned the cache and repaired permissions too. I don't understand the background maintenance tasks link.. I have ML, so I think it says that it doesn't apply for it, right?

Using Omnidisksweeper, I found that what was taking up a lot of space were my iphone backups and the emails in my imail accounts. I deleted the backups and most of the emails because I don't need them and the "Other" space went down by almost 10 Gb. It looks like the 16gb left are needed for the computer.
