How do you type in English the letter "h" with a dot below it?

How do you type in English the letter "h" with a dot below it? It can be done with Windows, but I can't figure out how do it on my Macbook Pro OX Version 10.7.5. I stumped Apple Care with this question. Surely, someone in Apple Support Communities can answer it. Thanks!

MacBook Pro, Mac OS X (10.7.5)

Tom's site says:

Switch Keyboards

  1. Make sure you have activated all the appropriate keyboards following the instructions in the previous section.
  2. Open a software application such as a word processor, spread-sheet or any other application in which you need to enter text.
  3. On the upper right portion of the screen, click on the American flag icon (User uploaded file<flag with no subscript>. Use the dropdown menu to select the Extended Keyboard (User uploaded file<flag with tiny U-subscript>).

Then you type Option-x and a subdot appears and is selected in a dull yellow. Then type the 'h' and it appears over the subdot.

The is used in transliteration in English for the gutteral letter "chet" in Hebrew letter, that sounds like the German "ch" as in Bach. I was able to copy this letter from a Word for Windows document, but there must be a way of making it using my MacBook Pro. Suggestions?

Here is a chart which shows the shortcuts for using the US Extended keyboard layout for creating such characters:

For full Hebrew transliteration you would probably need, in addition to "dot below", macron above, macron below, acute, and caron.
