Why should you NOT update your carrier settings ??  Because they robbed me of a basic phone feature and maybe more.  It was definitely NOT an upgrade for my phone or performance.  In a nutshell, T-Mobile disabled my Hotspot capability.  This is most likely in response to the number of people, like myself, who have had an unlimited data network plan BEFORE they decided to limit and CHARGE for this feature.

DO NOT UPGRADE YOUR CARRIER SETTINGS.  IF YOUR PHONE IS WORKING, LEAVE IT BE.  THE PHONE CARRIER IS MOST LIKELY TRYING TO LIMIT YOU, NOT HELP YOU.  IF THIS PASSES OVER WITHOUT CONFLICT, YOU CAN BE SURE THAT YOU WILL SOON START TO SEE CHARGES FOR OTHER BASIC PHONE FEATURES THAT THE CARRIERS ARE WORKING TO CONTROL IN THE FUTURE...
