I'm having trouble repairing push notifications

Hi all,

I'm having a little trouble with push notifications

Symptoms:

-- iDevices stop getting push notifications for mail

-- the following error message appears in the mailaccess log on the console for every message that traverses the server:

Disconnected from apn feedback server feedback.sandbox.push.apple.com

The cause:

The push certificates have gotten goofed up and need to be renewed.

The fixes I've tried so far:

Renew the push certificate

  • In the Server app, click on the server that's having trouble (usually the first item in the left column)
  • Click "settings" tab
  • Click the Edit button next to "Enable Apple push notifications"
  • Click the Renew button and reenter the Apple ID credentials for that server -- Apple reissues the push certificates
  • Restart the server

  • Reload the accounts on the iDevices (to pick up the new cert)

Things kinda work -- if I send messages to myself. And the error message is gone. But the iphone still isn't getting new messages pushed to it from other senders. Weird. Any ideas?
