how to blur parts of my film

hi there,

i try to color grade my film using color, and i am loving it!!

anyway, thats not the issue here...

i was wondering how i can blur a certain area of my footage. there are some areas on the skin

that have to "disapear" or just should look more smooth than they do.

i thought i can use a vignette, track it an than blur it a bit. but there does not seem to be a blur

funktion for that!?

or is there another way of smoothing that area?

please don't say: use the colorFX room, as i find it very complicated to use...

thanks for your help.

Color is not the app for this.

Once graded and with the material back in FCP, you can either use the Vignette effect in FCP or Motion. Motion will likely give better results as it has a superior rendering engine.

thanks for your quick reply!

at least that means i am not blind or stupid not finding it!

too bad though as i have no experience with motion and FCP does not have

a tracking tool. ****!

it is a bit strange though, that color can't do a standard skin fixing job, isn't it?

well thanks, at least i can stop looking for it.
