Does anyone have any tips on how to remove the sim card slot on the iPhone 5? Been trying for ages with the tool they provide in the box but it doesnt seem to want to pop open 😟

press firmly, it should pop right out. If it doesn't, I'd recommend you take it to a retailstore for diagnosis. (schedule appointment at geniusbar !)

Could be a CDMA version - no sim.
yeah, when i turn the phone on it says to insert SIM to set up phone 😟
Ah...all iPhone 5's have sim slots, even the CDMA versions.
The same experience as I had with my first iPhone. Use the tool or an open bent paperclip. Slide in the (very) small hole until it finds bottom, then press firmly, it should come out a few mm. The rest by hand.

They all have sims. The Verizon iPhone 5 is unlocked so it can be used on GSM carriers in the US so it has to have a sim card slot.
