How do I change the default settings for notifications/reminders i Calender?

Hi,

Every time I want to enter a new activity in Calender, the small window shows up and I can put in all the details. Somehow the default setting regarding the notifications is that Calender wants to sent me one reminder with email and one with message without sound (free translated from swedish..).

I find this quite annoying since I never want to get a reminder in my inbox. Does anyone know how I can take away these defalut settings?

(I´ve been inside settings in Calender and took away whatever reminder-settings there were, but no change..)

In case it matters, I use a gmail account for email and calender.

I really don't know what else to point to. Why do you have the gmail account enabled in Calendars? Are you syncing iCal with the calendars at the Google Mail site? I deleted my gmail account several years ago because of compatability issues with syncing gmail Contacts & Calendars and using iCloud at the same time. Even before using iCloud, I had issues trying to keep them synced. I'm sure they have made changes since then.

You might check the gmail website in that account to see if there aren't settings there to send out alerts with messages. That might be why it is only affecting that account.

If there are none, you might try deleting the account from Mail. Also delete it from Mail, Contacts & Calendars in System preferences and delete it from the accounts tab in iCal.

Once done, restart Mail and recreate the account. Then add the account back into iCal or MC&C preferences if you need it there.

See if that works.
