How can you tell if it's on the U.S. version? Just curious.
But yea, two more episodes have aired and only the first (free) episode is on the Canada iTunes. I bought a Season Pass, I hope I don't regret it. (Not because the show is bad, but because iTunes seems to have issues with Season Passes).

Yeah, i love the show and i bought a seasons pass as well- disappointed by how they cant keep the momentum current. I wrote apple and apparently it has to do with licensing in Canada, as the network is the one who releases the episodes to apple, who releases it to their clients. So we cant do much but wait. Bummer.
I just sleuthed online and typed in hannibal season 1 and my search defaults to the us version of itunes.

Howerver, the reply makes no sense (the whole licensing thing). CityTV is airing the show at the same time as the U.S. (channel) so why can't Apple offer the episodes to Canada as they do for the U.S. iTunes? Licenses are obviously all in order for CityTV to air the show in Canada, not to mention the CityTV website has the episodes up the day they air. And lets not forget that lovely credit at the end of the show, "Promotional consideration furnished by APPLE."
The whole thing makes me wonder.
At least I can watch the episodes online until Apple gets their act together and makes the episodes available in Canada.
I don't do much sleuthing. 😉 After five minutes I usually give up (unless it's something really important).
Thank you Apple for releasing the episodes to date. They're downloading to my iTunes as I type this.
I hope, now, as episodes air they will be on iTunes Canada. 😀
It's completely up to the content owners. The licensing for broadcast by the Canadian networks is totally different than that for the iTunes Store or any other download store. In addition, the content owner has to encode the episodes in the format used by the iTunes Store and deliver them to Apple. So Apple has very little to do with any delays in any show being posted in a timely fashion. Some content owners deliberately delay release of an episode so as to try and drive people who don't want to wait for an episode to appear in iTunes to watch on the sites that have ads, and if it's CityTV that holds the distribution rights, they have even more incentive to drag their feet.
