Read AVCHD files to QTMovie?

I really want to read AVCHD files to QTMovie. I found that Quicktime player can read AVCHD fiile on Mac 10.8 so does Mac OS 10.8 have API to read AVCHD file to QTMovie or another object.

I tried some function like

- [[QTMovie alloc] initWithFile:(NSString*)]

- NewMovieFromDataRef()

but it did not work.

So does anyone have any idea for this?

Hi Hellothi11,

Quick question. Do you have already installed the AVCHD codec into your system?

Besides API you would need the codec to play such files. You can get it free at Panasonic web support site. Take a look at the details at following link QuickTime Codecs Installation.

Kind Regards,

Javier

I can install all codec or use other framework like ffmpeg to read avchd files, but i want to use Quicktime framework, QTKit developement to do it. And from version 10.2 of Quicktime player on Mac 10.8 can play AVCHD so it should be supported in QTKit or one framwork in 10.8 SDK so i want to find out how can do it?
But thank you for your idea!
