Front Camera on my 5th Gen Ipod touch isn't working, Why?

I bought my a 5th Gen Ipod touch the end of last year, so ill say a few month ago. It was working perfectly fine, no problems, everything would work smoothly. Just recently like two days ago I noticed a few things. 1. That my Battery was dying so fast (in like hr or so of using it. it dies) 2. The ipod it self was heating up real bad. 3. I was trying to face time and my Front Camera stop working. It doesn't work at all! What happen? this was all random when my Ipod was working amazingly a few days ago.

iPod touch (5th generation), iOS 6.1.3

Try doing a hard reset: Press and hold both the Home button and the Sleep/wake button simultaneously for about 15 seconds and release when the Apple logo appears. If that doesn't solve the issue, you could also try backing up the device and restoring the device as new. If that doesn't solve one of the issues, the device may need service.

Follow the steps in: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4137

NB: set up as a NEW device because a software issue will be in the backup. If the issue persists after restoring as new, you should offer the device for service.

If you're not able to restore the device, this one might help: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1808

Good luck

What will happen when when you try to make a photos with the camera?

black screen?

Do a Restart/Reset/Restore. (in that order)

When does your iPod heat up? Always? My iPod (4th gen) was also very hot after playing Real Racing 3 for 30 min.

Hey thanks for your help. I'm able to take pictures with my back cam but as soon as I try to switch to my front, it just freezes. I have tried to rest/ restore, all that, and still haven't solved my problems. My iPod heats up anytime I'm using it, I don't have to be playing a game or anything, things like listening to music only, with the lock button pressed. It would still heat up badly. And my batt would die in like an hr of use.

I have the same problem. I really don't want to go to an apple store, because there isn't one where I live. But I want to ask apple If I could put an old iPod 4 face cam into my iPod 5. That would be nice because I constantly use the face cam and now I haft to use my phone :/
