Hi guys!
Please helppp. I lost my iPhone 5, its switched off cos the batterys dead. I logged into iCloud and went into "Find my Phone" but it won't locate my phone because it says "Device Offline". I'm on $60/m for 2 years plan and ive only had my phone for about 6 months :'(. i dont wanna have to buy a new phone for this....please help ๐ ๐ ๐ ๐ ๐

Okayy i know you have to "enable" Find my Phone, but its not enabled. Can Apple do something about it?

There is nothing that can be done if your phone is not on and connected to the Internet and Find my phone is not enabled.
The only way to locate/disable/erase any lost/stolen iPhone is through Find My Phone or a similar app. However, this requires that Find My Phone be setup/activated, on your phone, before it was lost/stolen. You would then login at iCloud.com & try to locate it. This requires the phone be turned on & have an Internet connection. There is no other way to locate a lost/stolen iPhone. Apple can't/won't help you, nor will your carrier. Report the loss to the Police, your carrier & Insurance company. Change all of your passwords.
If your carrier offers Blacklisting & they Blacklist the phone, it will be unusable as a phone.
If locked with a passcode, all a thief or whoever finds it has to do is force the phone into recovery mode & restore it. While this deletes all data on the phone, it also removes the passcode so the phone can then be used as a phone or touch.

wjosten, so does that mean, If the theif uses recovery mode and restore it, I wont be able to find my iPhone ever?
That's exactly what it means. Your only hope then is if the police catch the thief, with your phone, & can identify you as the owner through the phone's IMEI number.

But its sadly bad news for me, as I had tracked the phone once using Find My Phone app, and since then it shows offline, since almost a week now. Guess the theif must've done, as you say.

With the introduction of ios 7 and later versions, no thief can use your phone once find my phone is set on because they will require your icloud id and pass word even to wipe. i hope it helps because my phone i lost too just yesterday.
