Time Machine Message just five days after a full back up of 500gB - Time Machine completed a verification of your backups on “192.168.1.36”. To improve reliability, Time Machine must create a new backup for you.

Just five days after a complete back up using Time Machine the following message appeared:

Time Machine completed a verification of your backups on “192.168.1.36”. To improve reliability, Time Machine must create a new backup for you.

Very few files were changed during the five days. I have had this message before but after several months of trouble free backups. The complete back up takes approx. four days to complete.

I have been using a NAS WD My Book World for over a year now without any trouble. I am using the latest firmware.

Mac Pro, OS X Mountain Lion (10.8.3)
