Q: Streaming/Mirroring/Sound issues

I have been unsuccesfful consistently being able to stream video from MacBook and Ipad to Apple TV.  THe videos are great on devices, but once attempted to get to Apple TV, they stop.  Also, I have been having sound issues with Apple TV about 50% of the time.  Any ideas?? 

Apple TV (3rd Generation), iOS 6.1.3
