Safari 6.0.3 has begun hanging. Even Force Quit will not break it loose. After forcing shutdown (power off) Safari is still hung (spinning beach ball). Activity monitor shows Safari plug-in npgtpo3dautoplugin using 215% cpu and 729 MB of virtual memory.
What is this and can it be safely deleted? How best to remove?

npgtpo3dautoplugin.plugin appears to be associated with Google Talk Plugin Video Accelerator
What I dont understand is why it goes rogue everytime I start deleting cookings from the preference pane in Safari. As soons as I start that this process goes to 350% of CPU. How is a google talk plug in related to deleting cookies? And it has nothing to do with what cookie I am deleting...Anyone?
How best to remove?
Check your Applications folder for anything Googler related to that plugin. There may be an uninstaller available to use.
If not, check the following folders:
/Library/Internet Plug-Ins/
/Library/Input Methods/
/Library/InputManagers/
/Library/ScriptingAdditions
~/Library/Internet Plug-Ins/
~/Library/Input Methods/
~/Library/InputManagers/
~/Library/ScriptingAdditions
The first four locations listed are in the root-level Library on your hard disk, not the user-level Library in your Home folder.The tilde (~) represents your Home folder.
To find the Home folder in OS X Lion, open the Finder, hold the Option key, and choose Go > Library.
That seems to have worked for me. I removed the plug in and can now delete cookies without my CPU taking off at warp speed. Still curious as to why that happens! Thanks Carolyn.
This is totally happening here. Had to uninstall it too. No problem, though, Google Hangouts ironically "hangs" every time I try to use it, anyway.

If you don't want to use the Terminal approach, you can navigate to this directory in Finder and open the uninstaller. Same result.
