I have just bought a 2008 GL 550. I have paired my iPhone with the integrated phone system in the truck via Bluetooth technology. I am able to call & receive calls but am unable to listen to my music playing in my iPhone come out through the auto speaker

Thank you both. I found out that the 2008 GL 550 is only equipped with Bluetooth technology for phone use only. It is not equiped with a media interface which can play audio remotely. To do this, I need a Media Interface and I just dread what it may cost me to by from a Mercedes dealer. Anyone with an idea where I can get one please shoot. ;-)
You need to make sure the vehicle supports the correct Bluetooth profile for streaming music. Check this support document http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3647 for iPhone information. Check the owner's manual for the vehicle and/or go to the MB website and see if the particular radio device supports this.
are you sure the car supports bluetooth audio?
