Can the Apple Pages app synchronize with the MS Word Processor? Say I started a MS word file on mac and would like to edit it on ipad using Pages while on the bus, does the document automatically update itself on both devices?

Apple produced apps dont sync with Microsoft programs. You would have to have Pages installed on you Mac for that to work.
Although I have not tried this with Pages and Word, save your document to an online service like iCloud. Then open and edit the document with whatever device you are working with. Make sure you then save the edited document to the online service when finished editing. Use save as Word file so that both devices can open the document.
Or convert the files. A program like Open Office can convert your word file to a pages file to be edited on the iPad.
I think your options are:
Get an app that edits word documents
Convert those word docs to the pages format to be synced and edited
Get the Pages program and use it to replace the word on your Mac
As a Iphone/Ipad and Windows 8 Power User,
I want to be able to create a M Word Doc on my Laptop (Office 2010),
such that I can view it on my Iphone in 15 seconds or Less.
If I use Google Drive or SkyDrive to save the doc on my Windows 8 I can achieve this goal.

If I use ICloud I can't even save the doc to the cloud, and I have 44 GB of space left.
I say the over/under for being able to do this with Starbucks Wifi Speed would be
120 minutes or Infinity.
