Q: Finder Column View does not display preview image in far column 10.8.3

I work in a Standard User account doing graphic design for which it is highly convenient to see previews in Column View, of the files I have, so I can determine which version to open.

Since a few weeks ago, Column View started behaving unexpectedly. I no longer see a preview of files in the far right column when selecting the file in the Finder. QuickLook works, but that's more trouble than it's worth. After searching the question in this discussion forum, I have tried deleting the preference for the Finder (could only find one plist file for that) in the User's Library.

Still didn't work normally upon restart for that Standard User. However, I also have an Admin account and I tested there to see that, lo and behold, Column View works just fine.

There are many reasons why I want to maintain my Standard account, so I need to restore Column View preview in that account.

Does anyone have any ideas about next things to try? I'd rather not have to resort to Bridge.

Thanks for your help!!

P.S. By preview, I mean the core file info, not just a picture of the jpg or pdf, but even the text that is usually there like the date and time the file was last updated or created.
