2012 MBPr HDMI not working on Windows 8

I just installed windows on the MBPr and I'm having a few problems. First, the HDMI out does not work. No external screen is recognized. Second, I'm only able to select a resolution from a very limited set of options. The only reasonable one is the full 2880x1800, with most of the others being way too low to use seriously.

It doesn't appear that these are common issues.
