I have itunes 11 on pc. I want to remove music from my ipad only, but keep them in itunes/icloud. in the previous itunes version, there was a way to pick which artists, songs and playlists i want to transfer to my devices. I read that i could manage by selecting "manually manage music and videos" however, when i go to this section, all i can do is manually manage videos. I just don't want my entire music collection on my ipad. please advise

Stop trying to manually manage content.
Connect the device.
Select the artists, albums, playlists, videos, etc desired to sync.
Sync.
Well, that's the problem. I know exactly what you mean, but when i go to the music tab, the only option available is to sync voice memos. On the old itunes i did could pick and choose easily. this one not so much
Deselect the option to manually manage music.
Select the Music tab.
Select the option to Sync Music.
All options should then become accessible.
The only option "checkable" is manually manage videos which was unchecked at the time of the problem
Is this the computer the device normally syncs with?
yes, the previous version of itunes was running on a different computer, but all recent syncing has been on my current computer
