i lost all my music,including itunes store purchases,i went for an update and it removed itunes,when i redownloaded itunes all my music was gone

there was an update for my itunes,i clicked on for update,instead it erased itunes from my computer,when i redownloaded all my music was gone,plus all my itunes purchases as well,it took years to get all my music,how do i get my music back please????
