simulate touch event in ibooks by JavaScript

Hi, everyone.

I have a problem with top black menu/status bar (with escape sign) in ibooks. It appears automatically at the first page. It will be hided by any touch on the screen (not on links or buttons) and never appear again (I can block it). But how can i disable it on start too?

As i understand, i should simulate some touch event by JavaScript. I have tried everything - all click(), onclick(), ontouch(), touchstart() events on all objects, all dispatchEvent methods, even inluding jQuery.

Have somebody any experience with it?

It is interactive book and we must disable ability to go to table of contents.

It is main problem.
Most probably there is no any access from JS to this menu,
so i am going to simulate touch event, but it doesn't work too 😟

It isn't Javascript. It is CSS. You set the default values in CSS and then you can change things with Javascript. I strongly suggest you test this stuff in a web browser first.

There is no difference to use CSS or JS to assign some style.
We havn't DOM-object for this menu 😟

Therefor we should use some trick like touch event emulation.

May be i am wrong...

Yes. You are wrong. Regardless of how you get that menu on there, it has some default CSS style. If that initial CSS style is "display:none", then it won't show up. Then you can use Javascript to turn it on if you want.

This HTML 101 stuff.
