mp4 movies exported from windows movie maker does not import well on Final Cut pro X.

Hello!

Besides to title, actually, quicktime itself has a problem with the playback and plays only a portion of it while Handbrake refuses to import it at all (windows version of Handbrake has not that problem). The same movie is playing without any problem with VLC or Movist. How can overcome this problem and import such a movie in final cut pro X?

You probably can't without converting the media. Have you tried MPEG Streamclip? Maybe some other converter from the App Store. Hard to know without having any information on the file besides MPEG-4.
