Q: Appleworks Database File

When I open my AW database file it shows 44 records.  Nothing shows except a pink box for each record.  If I save the file to text all the records show.  Is the database corrupted to much to recover in AW.

What version of AppleWorks are you using & what version of OS X are you using it in? Your profile under your post says you're using Mountain Lion but you cannot run AppleWorks on Lion or Mountain Lion. The last version of OS X that AppleWorks will run on is Snow Leopard, 10.6.8. Once you've answered this we can move on.

Using AW 6.2.9 on my wife's computer running Snow Leopard 10.6.8.  Trying to open the AW file on her computer and cut and paste into Pages 4.3.   Guess I solved my own problem.  The saved file was under Avery Label 8160 and I changed the layout to Avery 5160 and now all the records are showing.  Both labels are the same size, so don't know exactly the problem.

If needed, continue to run Appleworks 6.2.9 on your Mt. Lion Mac with Snow Leopard Server installed into Parallels 8:

That's good to know. I'd make sure you keep backups of that file, including a copy as text, just in case.
