Why is my old MacBook Air with Lion apparently waking using Power Nap?

The article says Power Nap needs Mountain Lion, and MacBook Airs from Late 2010 on. I have an old Air from 2008, am still running Lion, yet I've just noticed the machine waking from sleep. Was this added to Lion in a patch recently? I don't remember it happening until recently. I can't find any options relating to Power Nap in Energy Saver preferences. I do see log entries about "DarkWake due to RTC", which according to the Internet means Power Nap...
