Hey. My MacBook is a 15" pro late 2008 non unibody, I haven't replaced the ram but the MacBook will no longer start up, I just get 3 bleeps, I have tried swapping the ram and the screen just stays blank, no backlight, nothing, when I put them back in the original position I get 3 bleeps. Does any one have any tips or advice that I could try, cheers.

Either the RAM no longer works properly and needs to be replaced, or an attempt was made to start up the computer from a Mac OS X version too old for it or damaged.

Means you have bad memory module(s).
I forgot to say that I recently upgraded my hdd as the old one died on me, but did a fresh install and update to the latest lion os, but cheers for the advice, from what I read its what I expected, thanks
