How can I enlarge text on email
I'm having difficulty seeing the print when I compose a message. How do I enlarge everything, so that I can view it easier?

Open Mail preferences, click on Fonts icon in the toolbar and adjust accordingly.
But is there a way of enlarging everything without changing all of the settings. When my husband uses mail, he has difficulty seeing what is being written. He feels there is all this real estate on the screen that isn't being utilizied. I hope I'm not sounding too nutty....:)
Open Displays preferences, click on the Scaled button under Resolutions. Select a lower resolution than what you are now using which will cause everything to be larger. Try different resolutions to find the one that is best for you to use.
It is also possible to temporarily Zoom the screen. This is controlled via the Accessibility or Universal Access preference which depends upon the version of OS X you are using.
Thank you so much.
Thanks to these forums, I was able to fix the problem of enlarging viewing size of incoming emails on Apple mail by dragging the bigger/smaller icons into toolbar. However this does not work for viewing while composing emails--the bigger/smaller icons drag up to the toolbar but are not active.
I am not willing to lower my resolution on everything just to make messages larger while composing. Nor should I have to enlarge font while composing and then reduce everything before sending.
As a now full-time Apple user, this is a REAL annoyance. Absolutely bizarre that the pinch zoom does not work on the mail program. Wishing more than ever I had sold shares.

Here is a quick dodge I do which may help you in some situations..
Copy and paste the tiny text (e.g. long web address) using the usual way into NOTES
Copy back from NOTES to the email
Thats all.
It certainly gets me out of issues where I want to copy a long web address which appears too small, and I hope this might help you and others.
