This will depend on a number of factors, type of object what objects are you trying to arrange?
You can reset Keynote to see if it will solve the issue by deleting the preference file; com.apple.iwork.Keynote.plist:
System drive > users > home > library > preferences > com.apple.iwork.Keynote.plist
