Q: airplay icon not visible in macbook pro

For some reason I don't see the Airplay icon on my mcabook pro to share with Apple TV. For reference, I do get the ability to share with Apple TV with my iPhone and a separate Mac mini.

MacBook Pro, OS X Mountain Lion (10.8.3)

if your mac is not on the list it's not supported

in which case you need to buy the program called airparrot to do it
