Safari browser does not work with LAN connection

Hi Experts,

hope that someone can help me with (for me) strange problem.

My safari browser works fine when I turn on my w-lan.

When I'm only connected to the internet via lan (macbook pro) safari browser does not work.

BUT(!) all other application works fine (Skype, Firefox browser, e-mail and so on)

So there is defently an internet connection and the settings working fine for all application minor safari browser.

Thanks in advance,

Sigi

From the menu bar, select

System Preferences Network

If the preference pane is locked, click the lock icon in the lower left corner and enter your password to unlock it. Then click the Advanced button and select the Proxies tab. If any proxy options are selected, deselect them. You don’t need to change the bypass or FTP settings. Click OK and then Apply. Test. The result may be that you can't connect to any web server, so be prepared to restore the previous settings if that happens.

Today my imac Safari browser could not load the homepage, nor when I'd click on the Bookmarks - but would load if I typed the address in or if I clicked on the bookmark multiple, multiple times. Also could not receive mail from the server.

Apparent CAUSE: This morning I placed my account on messaging from my ipad.

Apparent SOLUTION:

* I deleted my email address/account from the messaging app from my ipad.

When I deleted the account, Safari browser instantly was back to lightning fast functioning!

- after HOURS of Not working and trying various ideas in this thread, rebooting the imac and the wireless internet.

WILD ?! but I'm glad ~
