Basically Dell doesn't work for macs so I installed the Lexmark X5270 driver and now I can print with my printer, the problem is... how do I scan?
It just doesn't appear as a scaner (only as a printer):

If you do a search on the Dell support site for a driver package for your Dell printer you may find one for a Mac.
But since Lion and Mt Lion Mac's don't do scanning well if at all.
Dell doesn't make drivers for mac, so I used the Lexmark one, the thng its that it recognises it as printer but not as scanner, when both the Lexmark and the Dell model are All-in-One printers :S

If there's no Mac driver for the Dell printer, I doubt that you're going to get full functionality from it. That's just the bottom line.

Dell certainly does have Mac OS X drivers for some of their printers. But after doing a search of the Dell support site I see the printer you have a very old, from around 2005-2007. So I doubt they have any updated Mac OS X versions for such an old printers.
